Home-Based Therapy for Children, Young People & Families

Trek’s home-based therapy allows us to bring professional mental health support directly to children and young people in their most comfortable environment—their home. Our approach is specifically designed to remove barriers that might prevent access to essential therapeutic services.

For many children and young people, leaving home to visit an office or out-of-home setting can present significant challenges. Children and young people with physical disabilities, mobility issues, severe anxiety, autism spectrum disorders, or other conditions can find traditional clinical settings overwhelming or inaccessible. Trek’s home-based therapy eliminates these obstacles by bringing skilled therapists directly to families.

In the familiar surroundings of home, therapists can offer various evidence-based interventions including:

  • Life-Story Work: Helping children process their story with a qualified therapist and a parent
  • Play Therapy: Using play as a natural medium for expression and healing
  • Family Therapy: Working with the entire family system to improve relationships and communication
  • Dyadic Therapy: Strengthening attachment and relationships between children and caregivers

By meeting children where they feel safest, Trek’s home-based therapy often leads to deeper engagement, more authentic interactions, and ultimately, better outcomes for the child and their family.
