Individual and Family Therapy

Our individual therapy approach for children, teens, and families moves beyond the traditional office setting to embrace the healing power of natural and creative environments. Sessions take place in carefully selected outdoor spaces or creative settings that naturally reduce anxiety, calm heightened nervous systems, and create opportunities for authentic engagement. This approach recognises that for many young people who have experienced trauma, traditional talk therapy in an office can feel constraining or intimidating, particularly for those who struggle with formal settings due to past experiences.

In these therapeutic natural environments, children and teens can process difficult emotions, build skills, and develop new understandings while engaged in meaningful activities. Our trained therapists utilise the inherent therapeutic qualities of nature and creative expression to support regulation, build trust, and foster connection. Whether supported by animals, exploring natural spaces, engaging in creative projects, or simply moving through the environment, these activities become powerful metaphors and tools for healing. This approach is particularly effective for young people who have experienced developmental trauma, face social challenges, or struggle with traditional communication methods.

Each session is individually tailored to address specific needs while building on personal strengths and interests. Our therapists bring specialised training in trauma-informed practices, sensory integration, and various therapeutic modalities that can be seamlessly integrated into nature-based and creative interventions. By meeting young people where they are—both emotionally and physically—we create opportunities for meaningful growth, increased self-regulation, and healing that extends beyond the therapy session into daily life. Families often report that this approach reaches their children in ways that traditional office-based therapy could not, opening doors to communication and connection previously thought impossible.
